Frequently asked questions

Each and every one of the moving parts is coated with insulating rubber, allowing the seal inside the container and, therefore, the protection of the goods. We are basically talking about the new front door panel and the 4 mobile metal panels

Box repair will not differ from current situation. Container repairing cost shouldn’t be different from the current repairing cost. Just it would be recommended Depots set up new pieces stocks, i.e. joining plates, its rubber gaskets, plate displays and joining twist-locks. We want to remark that the screws used to fix the panels should be standard and be available worldwide.

In each new 20 feet unit we should storage 2 twist-locks and 2 union panels. Why only 2 pieces of the twist-locks and the union panels? This is because the lateral panels and the bottom and upper panels are equal. In this way we avoid to have to storage all the pieces into every unit. The storage of those pieces could be done in the ceiling of the container or in the front panel. In this way the total space inside of the container will be the same as now.

Each new 20 feet container will have 6 electronic displays, 5 of them dedicated to the container number and one of them with the characteristics of WEIGHT, TARE, etc… The idea is that every electronic display will have a small chip with a RAM memory, which is storing 2 numbers:
  • 1 number belongs to a 20 feet container.
  • 1 number belongs to a 40 feet container.
Inside the container will be a connection plug between the 2 units. If this plug is disconnected, container will show the numbering of the 20 feet container. If this plug is connected, a simply routine would be activated though a micro-controller. This routine will do 2 main questions:
  • Would change the container characteristics (WEIGHT, TARE, etc…) in the display.
  • The software will compare:
    • 40 feet number storage in the container A.
    • 40 feet number storage in the container B.
Then, the software will choose the higher container number and instruct all the displays, to show same 40 feet container number.
As the ISO numbers are not changing, the software of the companies should not have to be adapted in this area. The best way to know if the containers have been linked is to create a new movement routine.
In this way, we will have this scenario.
a) 2 x 20 feet are linked. 1 x 40 feet is created. We should keep the 2 x 20 feet numbers deactivated with the movement “linked”. A new merging 40 feet container number will be activated an associated to this movement.
b) 1 x 40 feet is separated. 2 x 20 feet are created. We would activate the 2 x 20 feet numbers with the movement “unlinked”. The 40 feet container number will be deactivated an associated to this movement.

The technology is making strides. There are in the market flexible displays and moisture / waterproof. We are sure that many companies specialized in this type of technology would happily provide competitive product and prices to be massively used in the containers.

Now, in the market, there are displays that are consuming power only when the numbering is changing, fact that significantly reduces the power consumption of displays to zero if the containers are not joined. So that means that we could forget about the usual power batteries problems or stolen pieces.
